I have spent a few days reading the carious tooics on here as well as other forums and I am having trouble choosing a complete upper and am looking for some suggestions. I have a complete LMT lower as well as a Noveske Gen 2 stripped lower with a DD LPK. I am holding off on finishing the Noveske for the moment.

I am thinking I want to complete the LMT with an upper for HD. I'd like to keep the price for the upper under $1,100.  I have been looking at the uppers by LMT, BCM and DD. I was thinking a mid-length chrome lined 16" barrel. Part of me wants to get an LMT just to match the upper to the lower but I also liked the BCM and DD. i am ok with waiting several months until the panic buying subsides. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

LMT, DD, BCM are all great uppers. I am not sure if LMT make a mid-lenth std. upper. Only there Monlitic upper has a Mid-length option. For the Money I would look at a BCM complete upper. They have them in a lot of configureations. But it might be a few months till they are in stock. Good luck on your Buld!

For $1,100, you can pretty much have DD custom build you any configuration of their parts that you'd like into a complete upper.

BCM is great too, but while their uppers appear cheaper at first, they don't include BCGs or charging handles.

I'd go DD without question with your budget.

You should definitely go LMT

Why mix and match when you can have something that out classes most

Thank you for the responses. it is pretty funny that there are three responses with three different opinions. I guess it really comes down to personal preference. I had overlooked that the LMT is full length. Ultimately I would be fine with that as well. Decisions decisions...

It Does.

Mix and match uppers are fine.
Pick a barrel length and how You want the forearm ( handguards or rail )
Pick the handguard length ( carbine or mid) or Rail length.
Do You want a fixed front sight, folding sight or full rail with no sight.

Decide all this and then buy a good name brand.

I am currently building my upper too, and interested in a DD 16" mid barrel. Priced out a custom upper with all the bells and whistles last week on DD's website and was in the $1100 range +/- $50.. cant go wrong with any lmt, bcm or dd..

So now I am thinking of getting the 16" Basic LMT Upper and adding an A2 handle. I really like that look. I have a BCM BCG that I can use. Any suggestions on the A2 handle? Any thoughts as to the BCM version versus the LMT version? Any comments/insight would be appreciated.

I would get the BCM over the LMT. I have owned LMT in the past and really like them but they are priced a little high IMO.
Get the BCM carry handle.

get the one that YOU like. LMT, BCM DD etc are all going to be top quality stuff. Personally Id go LMT or DD because they make their own stuff for the most part ( I know it doesnt make a difference, good parts are good parts). BCM is an assembler like most others, but they assemble top notch parts and assemble it well

Compass Lake Engineering (CLP). I would purchase the pre band Service Rifle upper with flat top A4 receiver and removable handle. Frank White's Compass Lake reamer is well known for good  accuracy.
