I just ordered a CMMG 18" upper for my nearly finished lower. My question is do I order a carbine or rifle length buffer? and what brand do you guys suggest?

 Thanks in advance

It depends on which stock you get. If you get a A2 stock or Magpul PRS stock then you'll need a full length rifle receiver extension (buffer tube), Armalite AR10 Buffer and Armalite AR10 Buffer Spring.

If you use a collapsible stock then you'll need a carbine length receiver extension (buffer tube), 308 Carbine Buffer and 308 Carbine Buffer Spring

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know. I think I'm going to go with a Magpul ACS.

I have an 18" rifle length and ACS that I'm using the stock DPMS buffer with.  Works for me.

Yeah DPMS parts will work just fine too. I only listed the 'Armalite' parts as an example.
