If the front face of your buffer doesn't have any markings on it, it should be a standard carbine buffer and weights around 3 oz.

H buffers are marked with a letter "H" and weights about 3.7 oz.

H2 buffers are marked with "H2" and weights 4.6 oz.

H3 are marked with it and weights 5.25 oz.

Are you asking about the buffer tube or the carbine buffer?

I was referring to the actual buffer and its weight, not the buffer tube.  Thanks for the info.
