I have searched the forum but cant fing the answer. What is the correct buffer tube for a early 604 build? I have the Edgewater buffer but not sure what tube is correct. Its the last piece of the puzzle I need to find to complete the build

Early tube as well, no wrench flats.

Also if you follow the link and notice a later pic the pictured 604 tube has 1/2" wrench flats while the later M16A1 and M16A2 use a 5/8" wrench.

Best thing to do is use the first buffer tube you find so you can shoot your new rifle. No one but you will know the difference.
And then keep looking for a "correct" tube.

There's a guy selling some early tubes on the EE.  I picked one up from him a week or two ago.  Hang on I'll try and find his add..........


ETA:  O.K.  his user name is tal35.  Just do a search for "buffer tubes" or search by his user name.  I got a really nice tube from him but the ones he has left are a little more "used".  I'm sure you could   clean it up though.

He just has the one ad.  I thought those would be correct for an "early" 604 build.  I'm new to the retro scene and am tying to figure it all out myself.
