Trying to decided which lowers to order. Would you go with 5 Range Tool lowers for $270 or 5 Anderson lowers for $200? Are the Range Tool lowers worth the extra cost?

No. I would not hesitate on the Anderson Lowers. I have about 20 builds on them and never a problem.

You've never had a bad one that got sent back to Anderson?

That's my only misgiving about Anderson. I get the impression from Arfcom that the defect rate is a bit higher than other manufacturers. Of the 20 all were good?

I have received a few out of spec Anderson parts...but the good outweighs the bad with them imho.  I get 2 lowers for 100 out the door at my dealer.

I've used andersons and aeros on my last 3 builds and an LRB before that. All were good.

I just go with the blem Palmetto lowers. Never had a problem with them. Plus they are cheap, save the money for ammo.

Edit - just re read your post, I would go with the anderson lowers.

i will say i bought 2 Anderson lowers with the built in trigger guard and the one i built was almost all good except it needed some light sanding for the front take down pin holes as they didn't seemed to be aligned well because it took a hammer to put the pin threw the 2nd hole. all good after some sanding. don't know about the other one yet.

7 Anderson lowers (5 "closed trigger") ALL had zero defects (but forewarned... you MUST use grip screws NO longer than 3/4" with them).
Anderson all the way. Cheapest there is, GTG.
BTW... Magpul grips come with 3/4" screws. If you decide on other grips, just order a 25 pack of Hillman 1/4-28x3/4 combo head screws off amazon/ebay for like $10 (they work, I've used them with no issues).

Wow, $34.95 was the previous record.  I was happy to get a few at $39.95.  Amazing what has happened to AR prices.  I was stoked to get my first lower, a CMMG, for $125 at a LGS at the start of the 2008 panic.  Haven't paid over $50 since that one.

How much was shipping? They wanted $155 to ship 10 to MI.

So in other words, they are scam artists.

PSA does the same thing on stripped lowers, thats one of the reasons I don't buy their lowers anymore.

I bought three matched upper / lower sets from Schuyler Arms and paid like $12 for shipping...very reasonable, and their prices are great too.

If you were referring to my post; no shipping costs as they are somewhat local to me so I will just pick up at the store when they come in.

Move to Arizona... its the bees neez when it comes to guns.
