Ok.  I have to stripped lowers to complete my first build.  I bought a Double Star 6 months ago and a DPMS yesterday.  My local dealer only had the one DPMS stripped lower so I bought it with the thoughts of starting another build, but maybe giving as a gift to one of my bro-in-laws.  Trouble is I can't decide which one to keep for myself.  Any suggestions?  The upper I have is a RRA EOP with 18 inch stainless heavy free float barrel.

Never sell because you want to keep them or sell them because you're not a dealer?

Keep both.  A rainy day will soon proove you right.

What does not being a dealer have to do with anything? Keep them because more than one in these times is the best medicine. You could damage a lower beyond repair & if you only have one then you're SOL given the uncertainty we've been facing since Nov 4. Buy as many as you can afford if you plan on remaining in the AR15 club for a while.

I've never sold a gun because it is hard for me to part with something I may not be able to get later.  I didn't know what reason the guy was offering for not selling.

I thought about keeping the lower and I guess I will seeing how scarce they are becoming.

x2....I put 7 on consignment before the election (including a stripped lower) to finish off a couple of AR projects.  Kicking myself...and calling myself a jackass.

I just bought 10 stripped lowers all for myself....call me selfish...I would keep both.

Tell your Bro-in-law that if he buys the parts you will help him assemble it.....then he care for the AR he built.

if the doublestar lower is the newer with a serial starting with "d" and not the "ds", keep that one, if you HAVE to give one up.

both are forged by lar.

Merc,I just bought two more lowers, one for a build in progress and one goes in the safe for a rainy day. Yah just never know...at least I will have the parts for a rifle should I need one...keep the other...it's probably going to be priceless...hell you may have to trade it for food[>:/]!!!!

You will regret if you get rid of any lowers at this point. Help him buy his own lower and build them together....that's a better gift
