I have never tried an AR with a cantilever scope mount before. Which version is better for a 2-7 power Vortex Viper, the standard or extended mounts? Would a Burris PEPR work, or do I need something like the Larue SPR-E? This is for my coyote rifle, so It doesn't "need" a QD feature.

I used a Yankee Hill extended rail and a set of medium Weaver Quad Loc rings for my Bushnell 3200 2X7. That combo works great for me since I don't need a QD set up for that rifle. I used the extended rail to get proper eye relief. It'll give you about 2" more rail past the reciever.
FWIW, the YH rail was $25 at Midway and the rings were $12 at WallyWorld. Not as nifty looking as the one piece units but very solid and and a lot cheaper.
