I'm going to be getting the taccom lightweight buffer and was wondering people's experiences with either taccom, wolf, or taran tactical reduced power springs? I do have an adjustable gas block. Please comment only if you have experience with the springs or spring/buffer setup.

Are all of them 10% reduced power?

Another option is Sprinco.

I've used Wolff RP striker springs and std. extractor spring in pistols, XP buffer spring in AR's.  All were quality springs that worked exactly as they were supposed to.
Wolff is GTG!

I'm running the Wolff 10% reduced spring with my Taccom LW buffer system and SLR Sentry gas block. Runs great

I hadn't gotten too many responses so I went ahead and made decision. I will have what you have except I went ahead and did the taccom 10% reduced spring along with their buffer. Hoping it's as smooth as I have been hearing and reading

You're gonna love the setup. Just be absolutely sure to follow the tuning/setup directions.

Can't wait to shoot it. I have been trying other things people have said to make things smoother and havent been too impressed with it, but this makes the most sense

I have one of the Taccom carbine buffer kits and it works well combined with a lightweight carrier and adjustable gas but I can't really tell any difference between it and a standard buffer with weights removed and  a regular spring.  I guess it also depends on what you ultimate goal is but mine was to replicate the soft shooting and almost non existent muzzle rise of my rifle barreled 3 gun rifle on a 16" and 14.5" midlenth pair of guns.  The adjustable gas and lightweight buffer and carrier made a big improvement on perceived recoil but a decent muzzle brake played an important role in helping control  the muzzle stability.

I don't have light bcg at the moment but am still considering getting one. Do you feel like a 3 oz difference would make noticeable reduction in felt recoil?

Yes.

I run mine with a LW BCG from AIM.
I have several AIM BCGs and they work good for me.
I have 2 of the LW ones, one of which has been running in my 3gun rifle for the last 2 years. It must have 15k rds through it at this point.

That's exactly the one I was looking at getting since it's a great price. Any preference on the nitride vs Nicole boron lw one?  I had read some forums/reviews where people said they thought the nitride one was better

Yes the lw bcg will help also. I have one of the lw aim nitride carriers with an adjustable gas key for the 14.5" upper and it has been great.  Just remember every time you introduce new parts with +- weight you may need to re- tune your gas for optimal performance.  I tend to find an adjustment that locks the bolt back and then give it a little bit of extra gas for reliability.

A full-mass BCG will probably short-stroke with a reduced power action spring.

I have thousands of rounds on Taccom's UL buffer system...

I have one of each.
I prefer the Nitride. It is the newer (better IMO) version.
My NIB has about 15k through it and the coating is flaking a little on the gas key. No biggie, and it could be an isolated issue as I bought it literally the day the LW BCGs were introduced.
They seem to have improved them quite a bit over the first generation....judging between my 2 samples.

I have a standard carbine and tubbs flatwire handy too in case I need to make adjustments but also to see if one works better than the other
