I just bought a RRA 20" Varmint and I'm looking @ buying the Leupold 45X45. For the money is there another scope as good or better? Also what mount? I was thinking a LaRue SPR mount.

I just don't see many ARs with a 45x scope. Any reason why this wouldn't be a good setup?

The scope you are talking about are sold manly to competition shooter’s like F-Class and Bench Rest shooter’s.

We are a dealer for Leupold so we can get you the Competition Series 45x45mm Matte 1/8 min. Target Dot but we do not have them in stock.

For most guys here they are going to get a variable power scope.  If they do go with a fixed power it typically will not go above 20x.

I wouldn't get a set 45x scope for two reasons:

1.  It's not practical at closer ranges.
2.  Mirage will be so bad that even at 500 yards you will be hard pressed to see what you're shooting at.

Get a Leupold VXIII 6.5x25x50 variable.  It's a great multi purpose scope.
