Well I have 2 builds I am doing, one 16" "tactical" build and one 24" varmint/target build.  I am trying to decide which would be the best trigger for which gun.  I currently have a Geissele SSA-E already mounted in one of the lowers and have the opportunity to pick up a JP trigger as well for the other.   Question is which trigger would be better for which gun?  I've heard the SSA-E might be to light for a general purpose AR but have never fired one with that trigger before so I' not sure.  Is there a better option then the JP for the other build?  Getting ready to put together the other lower so any help would be appreciated.

I have a Geissele SD-E on my 10.5" and my 20" ARs - it's the same as the SSA-E, with a flat bow. I would absolutely use the SSA-E on both builds in your case. Having a consistent trigger pull on each platform is great for training.

I've used an SSA and an SSA-E, and the SSA-E is simply better in every way. Don't hesitate to use it on a GeneralPurpose rifle.

Thanks for the input.  The only downside I've heard is that it's so light that people complain about miss-fires.

I've never once heard about a misfire with an SSA-E. I have heard people say that they thought they could have maybe had a negligent discharge from putting their finger on the trigger when they shouldn't have - i.e. violating one of the four cardinal rules of firearm safety. A misfire would be a mechanical failure, and should be sent back to the manufacturer immediately.

It's really just not that light of a trigger. It's 3.5 pounds versus 4.5 pounds for the SSA. There's a ton of people on this forum that use the SSA-E / SD-E as a general purpose trigger, and a ton of people that use the SSA. Either is an excellent choice, but I think the SSA-E is a better choice, especially since you have one on your other rifle.

I agree. You will be a more consistent shooter if your varmint rifle has the same trigger pull as your tactical rifle that you plink around with. I would just get the SSA-E if I were you.
