I want to upgrade my trigger to something alot lighter. Just the springs I think, I don't have $150+ to spend. Somewhere in the 10-60 range. I am looking at the Elkmont Arms TPRK and the 10 dollar JP spring kit. any help would be great, thanks! What is the stock trigger weight on a standard ar? I have a oly arms lower kit.

I had a stock lower parts kit with a trigger that was breaking at about 12lbs. It had the typical trigger creep, overtravel, etc.... I bought a JP lightweight spring kit from Brownells for a few bucks and mailed the spring kit and trigger parts off to a guy here on the board that does trigger work for $35. When I got the trigger back it rocked! It now breaks at 5lbs. No creep, no overtravel.... Damn nice trigger...

Cost about $40 total.

The trigger weight for most ar's is around 10lbs I believe. It probably varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The best stock trigger I have ever had was a Bushmaster trigger. Ive owned 2 Bushmasters and I have never had to do anything to either trigger.
