I have an A2 upper I bought with a preban lower a while back and I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. It has the Alcoa forging mark but no other. I have seen that some Colt uppers have that mark but also have the "C" next to it. Does anyone know who this upper could have been made for? I would just like to know if it is a Colt, an FN, Bushmaster, Oly Arms, something. I have a picture I can email if it will help. Thanks |
| It is a strange shaped A. I can send a picture of it. I went to bighammer and saw that marking on a Colt upper they show with the "C" and that site said it stands for Alcoa Forging, but doesn't say who it was made for without any other marking just that weird A. |

People usually ask this question about what they call the splintered A; which is actually an A H, for Anchor Harvey. Looks like you're talking about the AF mark that Bigger hammer shows as Alcoa Forge. I've never seen this on anything but Colt stuff, accompanied by the Colt "C", so I can't help with the original question. Just trying to clarify what the actual question was[:D] Me? I've got an M16A1 type govsurp upper with a C K on it; another one that Bigger Hammer doesn't show. I'm assuming it's Kaiser. |
