Who has purchased a laser from them?

Is it mountable (ie tube diameter 30mm)?

Do they last or do they burn themselves out after a year?

Is it worth the $1000 they are asking???

PLEASE: only respond IF you already own one or had owned one.

Thanks in advance to those who respond.

Ok Im NOT the one that owned it but i borrowed it frequently.

When I was In HS I had a Debate class and needed a laser so I borrowed a freind wicked laser (green) to take on the trips. It would probably not be ideal to mount on a weapon... hell its more of an expensive toy. Its really cool when you can cut shit with a laser and when you get a cut you can "heal" it. Pretty neat, but worth 1k +... Im not so sure.

I purchased one of their 250 dollar 'pen-light' 55mw green lasers as a father's day gift. I played with it before giving it to him and I can say that is is by far the brightest laser I have ever personally handled. Even indirect reflections is almost too much to bear without sunglasses... They're a hoot. Weapons sight or not, pick one up just for shits and giggles.

Anyway, I would say that the green laser would probably not be the best option as a sighting laser as its beam is cohierant or visable, even in daylight. I do know that they (green lasers) are sometimes used to confuse a target, especially if strobed... Apparently their red lasers are pretty damn bright and do not have a cohierant beam.

Well, I guess I'll spend my money on something else - like another AR or another 1911.

Bottom line is that I dont think that many people own these lasers. If I need a laser for any of my weapons, I'll probably get a Surefire or LDi. The only thing that facsinated me was the fact you could BURN things with this laser.

No The wicked lasers are not built strong enough to handle the recoil.  I didnt mount mine, but it fell out of my jacket pocket, hit the ground tail end first and never worked again...

On a side note. The wicked lasers are by far the highest power pen laser you can buy. And with several e-mails to the company I bet they will make a weapon mountable one.

Lets see if we can get this done...lol  If they already dont make one?

that is your best bet.  The Surefire is an awesome laser and it's modular,  there are a ton of different ways you can set it up.  A laser from LDI is also a great choice and an OTAL/ITAL is a good bit cheaper than a Surefire

CWDraco,
I sent an email to them a couple of months ago and got a speedy reply about this same subject. They are working on some laser devices for the military and LEO, but they mostly looked like pointers and "dazzlers". I mentioned that if they could provide a dual red/green beam laser sight for weapons they would probably do quite well in the civilian market. They mostly wanted to know who I thought was the better laser manufacturer and I told them Surefire and of course LDI. They asked if I could send them an LDI OTAL to see if they could develop a replacement drop in type green visable diode for the LDI OTAL product. I told them I did not own one. Dont know if they were very serious about making weapon mounted laser sights or not from the email traffic I received? I did however learn that LDI was looking into a red/green visiable laser for weapons based on their OTAL or at least it was under consideration because of the interest expressed by consumers. I would say LDI is the best bet for new weapons mountable laser sights. Harrass Joel Logan of LDI and just tell him what you are wanting he is pretty cool and forthcoming with info about LDI and says he takes peoples suggestions to the management, dont know if it is true but maybe if we whine enough they will produce something like we want.

Well he got one of their "High End" lasers, you can cut tape, pop ballons, cut garbage bags, and when you get a small cut you can point the laser on it and move it back and forth essentially you are "Burning" the cut closed and it heals alot faster. all in all a very neat little toy but for as much as they run i wouldnt buy the one that cuts and heals with out neeeding it for your profession.

YMMV,
M

PS ill get a link up in a second
