Anyone have experience using Wilson micrometer hand dies to reload match .223?  I'm considering them as an alternative to the usual list of suspects (Dillon, Hornady, RCBS, etc.), but I would like to know how well they work and how much of a PITA they are to work with.

Thanks!

You'd probably be better off and get more responses if you posted this in the reloading forum located on the lower half of the GENERAL page.

While I have never used the Wilson hand dies, I have used the Lee version in pistol calibers.

I would NOT recommend this type of process for reloading Match 223 ammo, as full length sizing will be a requirement and they would be more trouble than their worth. Not to mention the "set-back" issue present with semi-auto rifle loading, neck tensioning being as important as it is, this too strikes me as an issue I'd rather avoid (especially when SMKs/match bullets, until recently, had no cannelures).

FWIW, I've broken several de-priming pins when reloading 45 acp by hand using these systems and fully expect that rifle calibers would even be tougher on the de-primer. Plan on this be a source of agrivation until your technique is down pat.
