| I have a 16inch Windham SRC and am looking at buying the PSA 16'' PA-15 HF SS12G2 Carbine. I do not know a lot about PSA but have heard some good things. Does anyone know if it is upgrade or if it is just a comparable weapon? |

I would get the PSA, milspec buffer tube and 1/7 twist barrel. Windham still used 1/9 IIRR Yes Windham is 1/9 commercial. I was thinking the 1/7 was better and the millspec was an advantage. I've owned a off the rack PSA rifle, very nice. Only reason I sold it was to help justify buying a 2nd Colt 6920 recently I had a Windham manufactured Bushmaster, I sold it as soon as I bought the PSA....it was a better rifle IMO, you could "feel' the difference |

Both are great IMO. I have a bunch of PSA stuff and it's GTG for sure. I've handled a few of the new windham ARs and they are nice too.
The 1 in 9 vs 7 thing is way over rated. So many people forget to point out that if you shoot mostly 55gr, not only is the 1 in 9 probably more accurate, it's also going to last longer. So unless you ARE going to shoot mostly heavier than normal loads out of your AR, most people would really be better served by a 1 in 9 barrel... |

I have numerous products from both manufacturers. Barring any FN manufactured cold hammer forged barrels from PSA, which are awesome I have to admit, the Windham Weaponry stuff I like better, especially their bolts. They are C158, batch tested, but that doesn't bother me one bit. I can't get PSA to confirm what kind of bolt they sent me, whether C158 or 8620 steel. Honestly though, both make pretty nice complete rifles. Go with whichever one you can get the fastest for the less money. |

+1 for PSA. If you just wait a little while...you can probably get a PSA rifle with Optic for 1k. I just bought the special this week for 1079 wih the Aimpoint pro optic. I have a primary arms 4-16x44 for longer range work already. The PSA looked great and has some really good reviews. I like the windham it was a great starter rifle but it is time to step up to the free float rail and red dot. The price difference of what I can sell my windham for and buy the PSA for is less then just buying the free float so the optic becomes free. Thanks for your advice guys you never let me down. |
