I bought this one at a gun show. I figured it was only like $10, I'd check it out. I think I like it a bit more than the Magpul one, my buddy has. It was being sold as Rock River Arms, not sure if they really made it or not. I guess that's what I'm here asking, anyone seen this model anywhere?

Hmm. I think it's a little too extreme. Looks like it could prevent fast handwork (immediate action drills)... Nothing training wouldn't overcome, but the Magpul guard allows function with the heaviest gloves I own, without impeding hand "escape". Still, I'm looking forward to more reports. |

Nope, never seen the trigger guard before. My question is why when the issue trigger guard folds down for that less then .5% use???? After several winter warfare execises (to include alpine skiing) never once folded the trigger guard down. Then again never used the issued mittens either. CD |
I looked at that Rock River Arms trigger guard (which is slightly bigger than the Magpul) at a gun show this past Saturday (on an AR-15 of course), and I wasn't too impressed with it. I even tried it with my gloves (leather gloves, not thick Artic gloves granted...). I didn't feel much of a difference. The "height" isn't as big of an issue with gloves compared to the length you get between the trigger and the mag well IMHO. If you look at the H&K USP's trigger guard, it's length is extended rather than the height.  If it works for you go for it, but I don't think it's worth it for me. There are functional reasons for this obviously, so I'm not trying to make a case against any sort of device, but I think there's more to be desired here. themao
