Has anyone had Wolf rounds fail to fire?  If so in what caliber

I never have had one in any of the calibers I shoot fail.

I have had S&B, Winchester, Speer, surplus stuff, and a few other brand have failures.  But I never have gotten 1 failure of Wolf to fire

i have never had any problem from any wolf ammo. if they would load with a cleaner burning powder and use bullets with a thinner jacket i would be a very in poor but happy man.

A couple of .45acp and .223  all of the 7.62x39 has run fine.   I have noticed the new coated .223 gets stuck after its been in mags a couple months.  It seems the lube coating wears out or off easily,  anyone else notice that?

The poly doesnt seems as "slick" as the laquer did.

Why would you be keeping the Wolf in your mags for months at a time? Being that this stuff is for range use only.

the unshot stuff that hides in the range bag or in the hydrastorm and forgotten about.   No way is wolf my carry ammo, I've got lotsa m193/855 for that!

I've had a .5% failure rate with 7.62x39 and a .1% failure rate with 5.45x39.

I've had failures to feed with the old laquer ammo in my Bushy, but once it gets to the chamber it has always gone bang in 9mm, 7.62x39, .223, whatever.

zero failures with the wolf poly (never used the old laquer tho) I have probably shot a little over 2K also I keep them loaded in my vest for months and have had no probs with that either.  Some even after shooting in the rain putting my gear away wet with the ammo still in the mags and no problems.

*note I keep my stuff loaded with my gear not for SHTF but for the next time I go out shooting im ready and dont have to load out in the field

Out of 500rd of Wolf 7.62x39 JHP, poly coated shells, I had 1 failure to fire. The primer had an indentation but it did not cook off.

Out of the 500rd of Wolf 7.62x39 FMJ, only about 10 or 15 were really accurate (sub-2 MOA). Everything else was everywhere.

They were shot out of a Vepr K in 7.62x39 (RPK variant).

only three failures out of about 10k rnds with wolf 5.56, two were due to blown primers,
one fte.
no failures w/7.62x39 for 2k rnds.

3k+ with 7.62x39 and .223, with zero failures to fire.   I have expereienced a few FTF's, but these were due to an extremely dirty gun (in an M16).  Zero FTF's in my properly maintained AR's.

Shooting Wolf 55gr FMJ Poly. No odor, no unusual lead fowling. The ammo feeds fine, does not leave any coating residue in the chamber. Went through 500 rounds in a new Colt LE6920 on 11/13. No problems. I buy the ammo in 1000rnd case for $110 at my local dealer in Oregon. The dealer is selling so much of this stuff he buys it by the pallet. Local users are sold on the ammo.

One time I had a round of 9mm Wolf go "pop" with almost no recoil and didn't move the slide back.  Fortuantely the bullet exited the barrel and I didn't have to pull out a cleaning rod.

Had a fail to fire.  Primer was hit but didn't pop or ignite the powder.  I put the rifle down for a couple of minutes and checked.  The primer was dented more than usual.  It also looked like a 'gooy' substance was coming out of the primer pocket.  I didn't pay too much attention, bullet wasn't budged so I tossed the round in the trash and went on with life.  That's the only failure to fire I have had thus far.

ETA:  .223 was the caliber

I just had a FT Fire, a  blown primer, it's 1 in 1500, so I am happy.

I saw the old laquer stuff fail to fire and fail to extract about every third round.
Of course that was with Tattoo bumpfiring so long there was smoke rolling off the barrel.
I was surprised none cooked off

Had a local club match this past saturday and shot over 150 rds of old Wolf 223 ammo... No problems with it at all.  Ammo is from 5K purchase about  a year ago.. It is the older style ammo.

Will continue buying it,  as cheap as it is...

-----------------------------

This has been my experience also.  I use Wolf in 9mm, .45acp, 40sw, .223(both 55 and 62gr), and the 7.62x39 all in both new polymer and older lacquer coated.
I have never once had a failure to fire in any caliber.

Three weeks ago I ran 800+rds of 62gr lacquer coated .223 through a Ruger AC556 without a single ammo malfunction. The fumes were a bit stronger than normal but it all fired fine.
I also fired 1500+ 9mm from an Uzi,  400+ .45acp in a Thompson smg. and 500+rds of 7.62x39  No failures in any of them. This was one days shooting at the Westfield MA shoot.

I've gone through about 2k in 5.56.  Zero problems.  Most through 16s in FA.
