I purchased my first and only AR 4 years ago and have mainly used 55gr Guat out of my 16" 1:9 twist Bushy.  I've always had good luck with the Guat for tactical matches, classes and general shooting.  I have always zeroed my Aimpoint Comp ML2 (4 MOA) using Guat and the improved battle sight zero method of zeroing at 50 yards.  Typically I achieve a ten round group of 1 to 1.5 inches.

Since my supply of Guat is about to run out, I decided to try a few boxes of black box, 55gr Wolf.  I'm not trying to bash here, but how in Gods name do you hit anything with this stuff?  Granted all 40 rounds cycled flawlessly through my gun, but the best group I could achieve was 3" at 50 yards.  Is this normal?  I understand that talking accuracy and ammunitions like Guat and Wolf is kind of like racing a Ferrari on E85 fuel.  Performance is going suffer.  I just need to know if I'm achieveing normal results or is there something that need to compensate for using Wolf ammo.

Thanks.

This is normal. Wolf is what it is cheap, dirty, and accuracy kinda sucks. Some rifles will do better than what you have stated, but your results match mine. Use wolf for practice/drills in short ranges and smile that your saving some dough.
BTW try brown bear it's a little cheaper and has been better for me than wolf in all areas stated above.

Use Wolf where your handloads and good ammo would be wasted or under-utilized, like shooting paper plates offhand at 50 yards.
