So i have a Vltor Upper with a Geissele SMR MK1 MOD1 in 10"

My plan was to make this into a 300blk build. I've taken my time doing this build because i want specific parts. By now i have chosen to go with a ballistic advantage barrel. I went ahead and purchased it in 10.5" length but when i loosely assemble the upper i noticed that not all the threads clear the end of the rail.

this picture i sharpied a single thread that is flush with the edge of the rail.

My question, I plan on running this suppressed with preferably a surefire SOCOM300-SPS. But would i have enough room for this to happen? Should i go ahead and sell this barrel and get another?

the surefire muzzle device you will add to use with the suppressor will add about a little over 1/2" to that area so it will be pretty close but should work. i have a similar setup with about the same amount of thread beyond the hand guard as you do and there is about 1/4" between the back of my suppressor and the end of the hand guard.

edit: i just took mine off to be sure and it is pretty much exactly like yours. if you need a little extra room though you can always add a small shim as well. the SF muzzle device will come with a shim kit for timing anyways.

From what I can recall, you need about 0.70" of clearance for most suppressors. If you look at the Mk18 thread, I want to say that the DD Mk18 rails are 9.5" , the correct barrel being used are 10.3" and those seem to butt up just a hair off of the rails.

Sand/trim/cut the rail somehow?
