[ARCHIVED THREAD] - XM177E2 Complete

Finally got the XM177E2 complete.

All parts are original Colt thanks to genofromreno, boywonder, and another member here.

Flashhider/grenade ring is Brick.

Barrel work was done by John Thomas.

Lower is an NDS A1 blem from a member here.

I staked the castle nut after tightening, and found a dab of automotive gloss black paint is a perfect match to how Colt covered their stake marks.

Fantastic build, i already have an E1, but posts like this really make me want to build an E2 to accompany my E1.

E1's barrel is shorter, and it has no grenade ring. Also it has a flat handguard slip ring.

Only three differences.

You forgot to mention the E1 has a partial fence and the E2 has a full fence.

I've seen a lot of photos of what appear to be E1's with full fence lowers. Retro Black Rifle has five era pictures on the E1's page and 3 of them are full fence lowers: HERE

Thanks! Not surprised to find I've always been wrong about that.

Awesome pics too! I love the upside down BAR belt.

I think l need to start hunting for 610 parts.

Already have a flat slip ring in the parts box. Get on the NDS list for a partial fence 80% lower and get it properly engraved.
