Did XM177's (10" barrel version) ever come with slickside receivers, or where that all E1 receivers?

Sweet...I don't have a spare E1 upper, but I just scored a Colt SP1 upper receiver with all parts installed for $80 on the EE and got an adapter pin for $2 at Brownells.

Thanks VAAR!

I'm hoping you meant an adapter SLEEVE.

The pins are for using a small hole upper on a large hole lower.

That's a great deal and may have to go that route myself!  Been looking for a reasonably priced original gray 604 upper for some time with no luck.

I remember when the SP1 uppers brought in much more than the surplus 604 uppers.

Er, yes, I meant the sleeve.

Yeah, I saw it, thought about it for a day, and finally realized the only difference was the $2 sleeve adapter from a $140-$150 slickside.  Pretty mucha no-brainer at that point.

Good call. I actually "converted" my SP1 based XM177 clone to small hole a couple of years back, using three of the sleeves. That way I can drop my M4 upper onto it w/o needing to use an adapter pin

Cool.  What is holding the sleeves in the lower?

Pressure fit, and usually loctite of some sort.  I have also seen people do a touch of welding to hold it in place.
