I have around a thousand rounds of XM193 that came in the 20 round boxes from the same lot number.  The headstamp says LC 05 and then a crosshair symbol.

Recently, a friend from work gave me a few hundred rounds of AR ammo that looks the same as my XM193 and the headstamp says LC 02 and then a crosshair symbol.

So my question is did he give me XM193 made in 2002?

Some jerkoff stole my friend's AR, so I guess he figured I could use it more than him.  He also gave me several bandoliers, stripper clips, etc.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the info.  I was just curious whether to put it with the other SHTF ammo or just put it with the range stuff.

Are you wanting to sell this ammo?

Wrong forum son.  If it's not for sale, don't post it here.

Post it in the "ammo forum."

Sorry, can a moderator move it to the right forum?

I didn't see where you were offering it for sale - you're in the right forum.

And to answer your original question, unless it has the bullet tips painted green it's probably XM193. Either way I'd hang on to it since it's Lake City brass.

it could be XM193, AE .223 in Lake City Brass, it could be UltraMax who uses LC brass.  More than likely it's XM193 but without any packaging it's anybodies quess.  Also that circle and cross is the NATO symbol

You need to talk to your friend and find out where the ammo came from. I am not sure I would fire it unless I knew the origin of the ammo. It could be reloads from a gun show, you just never know when its loose.

sounds like xm193 manufactured in 2002, good stuff, stash it or shoot it whatever, xm193 is not that hard to find.

I will ask him to confirm.  He is ex-military and an ex-cop that likes to buy the good stuff and I know he doesn't reload, so it is probably is Lake City.

I think I will take it out to the desert and have some fun with it...

Thanks.
