Im not sure if this is covered in another thread but I got my second case of LC XM855PD today...wanted to stock up since its getting harder to find.  Almost all the brass is 04 headstamp.  When I opened the box to my surprise there were 3 or 4 round laying on the top of that had some blue corrosion on them.  Dug through the box and didnt find any others but almost immediatly found a couple of badly dented rounds.  Picked a couple random ones out of the box and took them apart.  Interestingly, they measured almost a full grain heavier on the powder charge than my other batch which is mixed 00 -02 headstamps.  Generally my other rounds were around 26.5 to 27grs.  These ones are between 27.5 and 28grs.   Also noticed that the sealer was better on the bullet and the primer sealant was purple and visible and that the powder charges seem to be more consistent than the older lot.  I understand that this stuff is 2nds or even 3rds but compared to my other case, these seem tarnished and not as pretty but are better in other areas.  I am not that concerned about any of these conditions but was just wondering if anyone else has run into this.  Is the newer stuff a little hotter?

No.  It's all built to a spec.  The spec for M855 hasn't changed.

Something about the PD ammo failed to meet that spec, and it was rejected.  I could be excessive pressure, not enough, damaged brass, damaged projectiles, poorly seated projectiles, missing sealants, excessive sealants, damaged packaging, bad velocity, bad port pressure, bad accuracy, contains pretzels..... etc...etc....

PD hasnt changed.... and I dont think you will find any trends.  It's bottom of the barrel, and you'd likely be better served buying Guat or Radway green if it runs for you.

How about moisture issues.  I pulled out a dozen out of my latest case of PD that had moiture damage.  I have never seen or heard of this on LC stuff.  The rest of the bullets feel corroded also.  I have had this ammo in the past and it seemed that generally 1 out of 10 rounds were perfect (cosmetically anyway).  Has anyone else had thsi problem with their cases of PD?

I got a case of PD and the stuff was almost flawless. Only one round had a dent in it that made me question it.

Where I am somewhat upset is I ordered xm855 and they shipped xm855pd.

I still shot it since they wouldnt return any of my e-mails asking why the PD was shipped instead.

I wont be ordering from them anytime soon.
