I have a 6.8 build in progress. Ayone got pics of a rifle lenght YHM FF with an 18" barrel?

Thanks in advance,

Here is my 17.5" 3 gun rifle which uses a rifle length customizable tube.

Are there any heat issues with this FF? I like the profile of it, lacking the clutter of 4 rails; but if heat is an issue, rails with covers might be a better alternative. I have read that the 4 rail FF are a bit thick and difficult to grasp, hence the addition of vertical grips.

I have done my share of "buy it and see if it works". I think I'll ask, then listen.

Thanks,

I recommend wearing a glove.
Aluminum tubes get hot when you trap a hot barrel inside them.

Personally, I am a magwell-grip shooter and have not noticed the heat.

I have one on a semi-precision rig.  (I.E. - No mag dumps).  The forearm never heats up to a point that it is even remotely uncomfortable.

I'm sure Randall's rig gets hotter (being a 3-gun) and I wouldn't want to use this on my CQB-match carbine, but on a 6.8 rifle, I would not hesitate.  I have a 6.8, and the ONLY two options right now are 1) standard handguards or 2) YHM customizeable.
