Does this sight attach to the free float hand guard so the sling does not impact the barrel?

YHM-9394 flip front sight

Thanks Glen

No. That model bolts to the barrel and a sling will affect accuracy. If you want a sight on your free float upper rail your choices are:

YHM-9627
YHM-9830A

ETA: Your best SIGHT option is to put the sight on the barrel, NOT the rail. If you have a quad rail, if I had a choice I would mount the front sight on the barrel (Dissipator style) and attach a sling stud somewhere on the rail itself, not on the front sight. If you put the sight on the rail, you're going to have to get a separate stud for the front sight sling swivel anyway...

The cost differences between the YMM 9294 and the YHM 9627 are pretty minimal, so you could put the front sight on the barrel for about the same price as putting a flip sight on the rail...

I kind of thought that was the case. I wonder why on there website they show the smooth FF rifle length with that front site on it. Thanks for your post.
