Is this one of your famous threads where whoever figures out what it is wins?

If so, I'm guessing it's a Surefire M3.

[#5]
Nope, it's the LM90 with latest gen "M3" bezel.
Usually found on a 918FGA Shotgun Forend WeaponLight or similar.

Oh c'mon Al....  Only you or BF or Grant would have known that.  I think I was close enough to win since I was right about the M3 lamp anyway.

LM90 Millennium Lamp Module with A21 Universal Housing Body [tube] and Z48 Clickie TailCap.
What you've got there is a hand-held light that can be weapon-mounted because it offers the same shock isolation and battery retention as a WeaponLight.

Are you intending to mount this on a weapon?

Get her mounted, it's guns and lights together which makes us smile!

Everyone should note though that there is another bezel revision for the M3 and Turbohead bezels, shown below are the differences.

New style (non-crenelated) -

The above is what you'll now find on weaponslights.

The crenelated (or 'strike) bezel is still available on the M3, M3T, M4 & M6 but you must specify it -

(above pic shows the older generation bezel by the crenelated M3)

So I am thinking of doing the same with my M3 Millennium Combatlight...

Let me make sure I have this correct, please see below diagram

http://www.lagger-pro.com/Adpaters.jpg

I can use my LM90 lamp module and attach it to 1 A21 extension and add the Z48 clicker?  Is that it?  This unit will be a dedicated weapons light that will be a 9 volt system?  Do I have this correct?  The diagram above shows the extension as the A12, please clarify.

Thanks!

The A21 is the "Universal Housing Body" - a black anodised tube.
It holds one SF123A.

The A12 is a "Lithium Battery Extension Adapter" - a black anodised tube.

Lamp Modules (such as the LM90) screw into the A21.
TailCaps screw onto the A21.

The A12 screws between your Universal Housing (A21) and your Lamp Module to extend the body for an additional SF123A battery.
(TailCaps do not screw onto the A12 - the threads are no long enough).

Your WeaponLight:
Z48 + A21 + LM90

I hope I have explained it well enough?

If you're thinking of converting a true M3 Combatlight you can't disassemble it to turn into a true  weaponsgrade system.  You have to have an LM90 module to build from in order to have the battery retention.

BrightFlashlights, let me ask a question because I'm a newb...

In this post, you mentioned a custom solution to mounting a M3 combatlight to an AR.  You stated:

Quoted:
A std. 1" scope ring can be used to mount the M3 Combatlight. Considering you're long term intentions are to have the light be a weapons system you might want to consider a custom solution -

There was a link to this thread with the (what appeared to be) a converted M3 Combatlight that was now a dedicated weapons grade light.

My question is what was the "custom solution"  you spoke of when refering to the mounting of an M3 Combatlight to an AR?

Thanks in advance for your patience with this newb question.

Here's the basic off the shelf M3 Combatlight -

If you have it, you can use a 1" ring to mount it to a rifle.  The M3 does have a shock isolated bezel but it doesn't have battery retention.

=======

Here's the LM90 module reconfigured as a stand alone light -

Because the LM90 is a weapons component it has battery isolation.  This system has all the same performance as the M3 and the 9v M series weaponslights.  The only benefits with choosing this route is if you perhaps want a light that could be used for personal carry or wanted a system that could be converted to Turbohead and be configured for either 9v or 12v (with the addition of an A19.)

[#21]
I see, so what you are saying is that the M3 Combatlight does not utilize the LM90 as its lamp module and therefore does not have battery retention, correct?

I was under the impression that the LM 90 was part of the M3 Combatlight and it was just a matter of swapping  out a few parts.

Thanks
