A while back we had a post about where to pick up a Young BCG.

Denny's/GTS website says they're out of stock....

Who were the other vendors with them?

Get it straight from them Young

Direct from Young is $20 more expensive and I've read reports that they do not stake the keys when it comes directly from them.

Do they stake the keys?

The one we have here is not staked, and was ordered directly from Young.

Very nice parts though.

You can't go wrong with Rainier Arms customer service. They really are second to none.

PK Firearms has them for a good price, & they are a site sponsor.

Does the chrome match a Colt chromed BCG, or is it a dull chrome (like DPMS)?

I've been thinking of getting one for my XM16E1 build. Yes or No?

I highly recomend Rainer arms and am running Young Mfg chrome BCG's. I assume the gas key bolts are properly torqued and for sure they are high temp/hi strength loctite-ed. stake away if you wish.

Ranier is cool.  I haven't bought anything from them, but they offered to give me the mil discount even though I'm retired.

Thanks for the tips! Ordered the chrome BCG from Rainier this morning. Doubt I would get the chance next year...

What exactly does this mean? I was hoping to order a chrome slick-side carrier group from Young. If the keys are not staked, is this something a competent AR15 gunsmith can fix?

their chrome carrier is not correct looking for a retro build.  Why not just get an original Colt carrier?

This one isn't correct for a retro (604) build?

Cause the prices of original carriers are as high as a whole BCG from Young. When was the last time you seen a Colt chrome BC w/FA serrations that the owner did not want a small fortune for?

Anybody have a Colt piece & a Young piece that they could do a side by side photo shoot of?

I'm going to order a Young carrier when I get started on my 60x project. I've got a Colt chrome bolt currently residing in a C-marked FA carrier. I want to get an MPC marked bolt to go in my FA carbine and get the chrome parts all together. I've been drooling over those Young parts for a while. They sure do look nice!

I was lucky enough to get a complete chrome slick side Colt BCG for $185.

I can not find the sp1 bolt anywhere else but directly from Young?

Yes.
also if you can drive nails without hitting your thumb chances are you can stake it yourself.
And about MP tested bolts. MP tested means the bolt wasn't cracked when tested, not that it never will. If the marking are important to your retro build by all means get a bolt marked as such.  If you want what you have on hand MP tested (A.K.A. "magna fluxed") check out reputable engine builders or aviation prop and rotor shops.

Is there anywhere I can get just the chrome carrier?  Is it true that the ones direct from Young do not come with carrier keys staked?

Thanks,
