A while back we had a post about where to pick up a Young BCG.
Denny's/GTS website says they're out of stock.... Who were the other vendors with them? Brachus |

You can't go wrong with Rainier Arms customer service. They really are second to none.

PK Firearms has them for a good price, & they are a site sponsor.
http://www.pkfirearms.com/store/get_items.aspx?type=0&term=52 (last one on the page.) Does the chrome match a Colt chromed BCG, or is it a dull chrome (like DPMS)? I've been thinking of getting one for my XM16E1 build. Yes or No? |
|
...and I've read reports that they do not stake the keys when it comes directly from them. What exactly does this mean? I was hoping to order a chrome slick-side carrier group from Young. If the keys are not staked, is this something a competent AR15 gunsmith can fix?

This one isn't correct for a retro (604) build? |

Thats the one we have, very nice, very retro. |

their chrome carrier is not correct looking for a retro build. Why not just get an original Colt carrier? Cause the prices of original carriers are as high as a whole BCG from Young. When was the last time you seen a Colt chrome BC w/FA serrations that the owner did not want a small fortune for? Anybody have a Colt piece & a Young piece that they could do a side by side photo shoot of? |
| I'm going to order a Young carrier when I get started on my 60x project. I've got a Colt chrome bolt currently residing in a C-marked FA carrier. I want to get an MPC marked bolt to go in my FA carbine and get the chrome parts all together. I've been drooling over those Young parts for a while. They sure do look nice! |

And about MP tested bolts. MP tested means the bolt wasn't cracked when tested, not that it never will. If the marking are important to your retro build by all means get a bolt marked as such. If you want what you have on hand MP tested (A.K.A. "magna fluxed") check out reputable engine builders or aviation prop and rotor shops. |
