Working on my first upper build. Would like your thoughts on what I have so far, what I plan on getting and a couple of items I lack.
Already Bought: Vltor MUR 1 upper reciever 18" SS Black Hole Weaponry standard profile barrel Ranier Arms Match Grade Nickel Boron BCG Future Purchases: Ranier Arms Raptor charging handle Fortis RED nitride muzzle break Samson 15"EX FF handguard Need help with following items: Adjustable low profile gas block Need help on choosing an optic. Thinking maybe a decent 2-5 scope for 250-400$ and maybe a relatively cheap red dot off to the side at a 45degree angle for close targets. Also am pretty set on Cerakote after everything is finished. Anybody have a better suggestion on finishing or anything negative to input on Cerakote? Please give me your opinions on all listed items with any pros/cons. thank you |
| Look at SLR Rifleworks and Syrac for the gas block. SLR makes my favorite one, but it's a little bit (a few tenths) taller than standard low profile gas blocks, so it doesn't fit under all free float hand guards. If the SLR won't fit under your rail, then go with Syrac. |
