Which target should I use for my A2 carbine. A M16A2 zero target or an M4 target.

Why does it really matter? I zero all different guns with all different kinds of targets. Sometimes I use a scrap of cardboard with a circle drawn with a marker. ![]() Or maybe....I'm just too old to understand all this modern BS that some feel that they need. To me if it's zeroed at the range I want it's zeroed no matter what I'm shooting at. I'm guessing someone will be along to point out how wrong I am. |

If you zero at 50 yards, it won't matter.

I explained what I do and that I don't understand why some feel they need all these special things to sight in a gun. I even said I might be wrong. And, just how helpful was your reply? I remember when men shot guns.... and they weren't so damn thin skinned. I have to remind myself that it's not that way here anymore. I'll try this reply next time. Why yes you may use either target or you could also use the box that your tampons came in if you don't have a target. |

I like you....... (In a non Navy sort of way....) |
| lol!!!! paper plate , IDPA target, or a typical 8 1/2 x 11 piece of notebook paper with a circle drawn with a Sharpie. If you miss you're target by 2" it doesn't make a hill of beans of difference what said target was. 2" is 2" no matter the target being used. I hope I don't get blamed for flaming anyone. |
| I pick up the sighting targets at Wal-mart. They have convenient 1" squares on them with a bullseye in the middle. Saves you the trouble of measuring the distance with a ruler, and if you do it right you can have your rifle zeroed in 6-10 rounds depending if you like shooting 3 shot or 5 shot groups. |
| I like the shoot and see targets. They have one inch circles which makes it easy to determine how many clicks you need to adjust. Plus, you can see your hits really easily even without a spotting scope. Plus, they are cheap at Walmart and are sticky so you can stick one up anywhere, even on the back of a tampon box. |

You answered OP's question with "Why does it really matter?" Obviously he doesn't know and thats why he's asking. Then you simply advise the world what you do and offer no explanation why. Your tampon box comment was funny, so I can see that you have a sense of humor, but your response makes it seem like you might be the one with thin skin. |
