I don't take it the wrong way... There is a huge difference between surplus crap for punching paper inside 100 yards and real ammo that is necessary to hit and take down real targets at distance. Let your mission dictate your equipment. JK |
Not when you're talking match grade ammo... Midway wants $770 per 1000rds of Black hills SMK red box..+ SHIPPING! AND THATS ON SALE!!! AND THEY SELL OUT QUICKLY I used to feel the same way...I was buying AE 55 gr for $170 per 1000 rds or $4 for 20...thats 17 to 20 cents per round! You gotta be CRAZY to spend 77 cents per round, I said. But now, I shoot MOA or better!!! If accuracy and precision are important to you, you need 3 elements: 1. a match grade barrel 2. a well made free float handguard 3. MATCH GRADE AMMO ... SUITED FOR YOUR RIFLE. SO, 50 CENTS PER ROUND IS A SALE!!!! |

JOE: Im having difficulty getting BLACK HILLS 69g SMK 500 rds/$259 in my cart at your site. Other items go to the cart - Is it my doing or yours? Are they available? If so, do you have a solution or alternative way I can percahse them at this price? thanks docgary |
Have you checked the ammo price list? This is crazy: XM855 at Ammunition To Go 476.13 17.90 494.03 $399.95/840 Bandos I not buying ammo now, but this seems fair for excellent ammo in todays market. And J. Kiser is a real stand up guy. A pleasure to do business with him. |
Me also the 500 rounds 69SMK will not work.........so I said screw it Other than the website 500round 69SMK thing, I REALLY like the services/products/prices you have |
Please try again! The item was created incorrectly on the site so i had to remove and recreate it to get it working. It should be good to go! If you run into any other issues feel free to email me and I will resolve them promptly! JK |

Joe: Just wantd to let you know I received the 500 rd blue box of BH in 3 days! Ordered on 6/6 late in the afternoon, arrived 6/9 at noon! That's great delivery time given the weight of the order.(16 lbs) I was anxious to compare these remans as compared to the red box 69 SMKs- Went to my range immediately upon delivery only to find a 2 day Steel competition in full swing! Not a complete waste - bumped into a friend I havent seen in a while - J J Racaza, 2006 STEEL CHALLENGE CHAMPION. When you finally beat out the top guys in the world, Doug Heonig, Bruce Piatt, etc, its truly a time for celebration! Out of curiosity, whats the concensus regarding the blue box vs red box? Any big difference in flyers, FTF, FTE accuracy? Thanks again for the quick service and price! docgary |
There is no difference in FTF, FTE or flyers. I would suggest that there may be a marginal difference in accuracy but, you would have to be on the top of your game with some of the best gear in order to notice the change. The general concensus on Black Hills blue box is that it is the least expensive way to acquire the best ammunition on the market. Thank you for considering Kiser Munitions. Regards, Joseph |
BH = BLACK HILLS I use Black Hills 69 gr Sierra Match King Hollow Point =BH 69 SMK HP ( no moly) RED box are brand new ammo- Blue box denotes remanufactered - meaning the brass has been used at least one time. As far as I know, there is NO black box... Why am i choosing the blue (re-manuf) ammo? The Money, bro, follow the money! red box = 65 - 70 cents per round Blue box = 50 - 52 cents per round. As far as accuracy goes, see Joe's post above.... docgary |
I shoot both 75 and 77 grain BH red and blue box and as noted above unless you are a High Master HP shooter you'll not be able to tell a difference in accuracy or reliability between the two. (other than the red sealant on the red box round primers). mike |
"black box" is the "Black Hills Gold" line of ammunition. It comes in a black box... Sorry for the confusion. This line of ammunition represents the absolute best ammo that can be produced in a commercial format. Here is a link: www.black-hills.com/gold.htm Hope this helps! Joseph |
Duh, I abbreviated it ![]() Thanks Joe, I saw that on the web site, but there wasn't much of an explanation. I knew what the blue and red (thanks to the last GB |
Well...not really. I pay extra to be able to bring information directly to the customer. I have sold more ammo out of this thread than from my EE threads during the few weeks it has been posted. Had I received no response or a poor resonse, I would have pulled the ad and let it die. That being said, the sale is over this evening. So...this post will fall out of existance. Warm regards, Joseph |
