I've been thinking about putting together another AR for coyote, this time in 204. Where's the best place to start looking for an upper? Preferrably complete, flat top. 18"+ barrell. Also, does the 204 use the same lower and parts as a 223? |

Hoping to save up and sell off enough this year to get one myself...barrel in 416 SS in a medium contour with a LaRue or VLTOR billet upper. Here is the Bullberry site with the .204 Ruger velocity data...starting with a 24" barrel and cutting it down by 1 inch increments, recrowning then shooting again...looking for the optimum barrel length to wring the most out of the cartridge while keeping a decent overall length for handling... 23" seems to be the optimum for the cartridge...(from a velocity standpoint). hth www.bullberry.com/204Rugerdata.html Edited to add You cannot go wrong with www.ar15barrels.com or Randall's work...imo |

Big plug for Model 1 Sales here. I've been looking for a long time, and FINALLY got a 24" SS heavy barrel free floated A3 .204 Ruger upper this past weekend at the Big Town show in Mesquite, TX. I got it for what I think was a pretty good price. Show price was $485 out the door, and that included charging handle and bolt group. Thanks to John at Model 1 Sales for his help! Disclaimer: I am not affiliated in any way with Model 1 Sales, nor do I have any financial interest in Model 1 Sales. I'm just a happy customer. PS I don't see the upper on their website, but I'm sure they can help if you call them. |

White Oak is top notch. My buddy got one. I think it was around $750 for a complete .204 upper from White Oak with a Pac-Nor barrel. Shoots awesome. www.whiteoakarmament.com/ |
