I have been researching the same exact thing.  The best info that I have found is to go ahead with the extra purchase and get a dedicated upper for your platform.  if you are going for tack driving accuracy.  if you are just lo0oking for general ( within 3") accuracy then go with a ceiner kit,  will take a little time to get but generally this is the best one out there now.

just my two cents worth.h

I have a Ceiner kit it works real well. It will shoot almost any 22lr and I have tried about 10 different types of ammo. I use Federal brand, I get them at Wallmart for $1.07 50 round box 40 gr. lead. If you want tack driving accuracy get a dedicated 22lr  upper. I shoot a 3 1/2" group at 70 yards.
