I have a Spikes ST-22 conversion bolt but am looking to build a dedicated .22lr upper. I'm looking at the CMMG .22lr barrel. My question is can I replace the Spikes chamber adaptor on the ST-22 conversion bolt with the CMMG barrel adapter collar? This will obviously work with the CMMG conversion bolt, but will it work with the Spikes conversion bolt??

I have done it the other way, used a Spike's chamber adapter on a CMMG rail and bolt. I seem to recall that others have used the Spikes with the CMMG parts also. But, to be 100% honest, if I were doing it (which I have) I would just spring for the CMMG upper with the stainless bolt and rails. They a better design than the Spikes with several improvements to the firing pin and ejector. Kept the Spikes for a conversion or sell it. Just my $ .02 based on personal experience with the above referenced parts. |
