I was wondering because of the size difference in diameter, will .22lr have any adverse effects on the barrel? I was wondering because people said that even .22lr and .22 magnum have different diameters.

.22lr and a .223 barrel aren't an exact fit.

Either clean the barrel well post use or have an old deticated .223 barrel for .22lr use.

.22 is a very small bit undersize for a .223 barrel. It will not hurt the barrel as far as wear is concerned. It can cause lead buildup and that needs to be cleaned out. Using good plated ammo reduces this. Avoid Thunderbolts!

Yes it's decent stuff. Spike's and CMMG recommend it for their conversions.

I just got my CMMG conversion. I ran 100rds of CCI minimags through it with no problems.
