| To build an AR rifle in .243 can you use an AR-15 lower & upper or does it require a special lower/upper? What type of magazines would you use and where can they be purchased? |

yep, Dablues has got it right. the .243 is basically a necked down .308 and is much too long for a standard AR 15 action. But dimensionally, the cartridge is the same as the 308 sso A-10 mags can be used.
sounds like a good project –––– the .243 would be an awesome AR platform cartridge. Much more powerful than the 243, but without the recoil of the 308 |
