Does anyone have any experience with the .300 Whisper round? Does this round use regular .223 AR mags? Who makes barrels for these? Thanks |
I do not, but there are systems running on M-16's with suppressors (sub-sonic loads) that I have heard about 2nd hand from people that seen a fella at Knob Creek.
Yes, parent case is 221 Fireball, just a shorter than 223 case with a 30 caliber bullet.
SSK is the "real maker", Olympic offers also, but they call it 221/300 or similar due to trademark by SSK. Kurt's Kustom is also making a system I think. You may also refer here-www.quarterbore.com, he has 300 info |

300 Whisper ammo only available from corbon. You have to re-load your own otherwise. On the correct platform and matched with proper reloading it is very accurate. Yes you can use regular USGI mags although some are finicky. This is based on my experiences with mags. Have not experimented with what is best and what is not yet, as far as particulars go. I got mine from SSK - http://WWW.sskindustries.com/ particularly well suited for suppressed weapons has its own merits as a supersonic round I like my 300 whisper
