| I am looking to spend between $300-$325 on a quality complete lower. I like the RRA with the 6 position tactical stock but it is closing in on $400. Either way, I still want that 6 position stock. Can someone suggest one thats a little less expensive? |

I really know nothing about building an AR which is why I am looking for a complete lower. Can you suggest one that is already built? What are your thoughts on this one... www.stagarms.com/product_info.php?cPath=18_32&products_id=237 |

You can find built ones from Stag, Bushmaster, etc for less than $300 easy. I bought a Stag Complete Lower with M4 stock on it at a local store for $250. There are a bunch of places that have AR lower halves, take your pick of them. Hard part will be finding a local shop to deal with. As far as building goes, if you can swing a hammer and can figger out "right tight, left loose" you got it made. There are a few tricks (laying down some tape to keep from scratching stuff) but all the info you would need is in the "Build it Yourself" forum. Really, your being tentative about building it is the perfect reason to build one. That way there it won't seems so mystical and less intimidating. |
I've bought a complete Stag lower for $260 shipped and built another one for about the same price. Stag's a good brand. If you buy one you'll be fine. In before deer head jokes. |
| The RRA catologe lists a m4 style adjustable stocked complete lower for under 300 complete! There is an ad on the EE for complete DPMS lowers for $200 new. You should have no problem finding one at a Gunshow if you attend one. I have picked up two or three for under 265 out the door new assembed. |
This is the way to go:
Trust me, it's easier than you think. Don't be intimidated. ![]() Awesome step-by-step instructions with helpful hints and pictures: How To Asseble Your Lower Awesome step-by-step VIDEO: www.lifelibertyetc.com/RangeBag/video/LLE_AR15StrippedLower.wmv (right click, "Save Link As")

I have no affiliation with this outfit; it's just a random sampling. Lonestar Wholesale lists complete lowers, with stocks, from Stag, DoubleStar, RRA, DPMS, Bushmaster, CMMG, ArmaLite and High Standard ranging from $210 to $280. While you won't really save money, I'll add a voice to the chorus urging you to think about putting one together yourself. |
| Found Doublestar lowers with options at Lowerreceivers.com 249.99 plus shipping |

Bought a stripped Spikes lower for $100 (part of a group buy) LPK from Spikes $60 Magpul CTR kit (included buffer tube, buffer and rubber pad) $150 Complete Lower Total: $310 Best part is no shipping, I picked it up at the gunshow and they installed the LPK and Stock for free while I was at the show! Gotta love Spikes. You can get a complete lower with the standard M4 stock for $265.00! http://spikestactical.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=41_23&products_id=86 |
| I know just how you feel about building the lower. I will say that I found a great deal on stripped lower at a fun show and decided to take the plung. Watching the video in one of the posts above I was able to assemble it in 20 minutes. Now all I want to do is buy stripped lowers so I can assemble them myself. |

I just installed my first lower parts kit monday night. It's not difficult. Cav-Aid 2008 lower $135 w/ tax CMMG lpk $56 Buffer Spring $15 = $206 I bought the Cav MkII lower mostly to support the Cav guys, but I admit it's growing on me. Standard lower and 6 pos stock out to run you around $170-180. |

mooneysfirearms.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=52 Great service and fast shipping. Just got one a few weeks ago. |

Anvil Arms complete lower, $250 http://www.anvilarms.com/pc-38-19-lower-receiver-with-full-lpk-and-6-position-stock.aspx Excellent quality stuff, and Jon is top notch in the realm of customer service. He's a great guy, I ordered a custom engraved lower from him and it turned out great, even better than I thought it would. Shoot him an e-mail, he's pretty good about answering promptly. |
You are about $65.00 off on your price. A fully assembled lower from Spikes is $265.00 link |
He may be referring to the GB with Spikes lowers that happened not too long in the past... |
| +1 for building it yourself. I was really skeptical about doing it on my own at first. I decided to try it and I am really glad I did. With the right tools it is really not difficult at all. Watch the video referenced here as well as print and read the directions provided on this board and you can't go wrong. It also allows you to become very familiar with how the AR platform functions. |
