Hey all I'm in the middle of building and ordering parts for my .308 and have found myself not being able to decide, I've decided on a 18" barrel but from who do I go with a rainier ultra match or a dpms sass the ultra match is more but will I see the accuracy increase to justify the price. does anyone have some comparison info on the two or maybe other suggestions in that price range. I'm looking for average shooting of 300yards up to 700 any info would be much appreciative thanks.

18" barrel choices are slim.  I went with a custom made barrel because I wanted a 4150 barrel with Armalite extension and the only thing I could find was stainless (Noveske or Rainier).  I have heard good things about the Rainier ultra match barrels; they are vailable for either an DPMS or Armalite BCG.

Fulton Armory 18.5" stainless medium-contour NM barrel - don't leave that one out of the mix.

Noveske makes an 18" SS that is hard to beat

I have looked into the noveske a bit pricey for my build I guess the question is at what point am I paying for the name will a Rainer ultra match shoot as well as a barrel costing almost 100-200$ more or will there be a I noticeable difference for the average shooter. Same with the dpms sass barrel vs the Rainer will it be a noticeable difference to justify the price. Thanks
