| This may be the wrong place for this, but how difficlut is it to build a FAL compared to an AR or HK? AR's are very easy and from what I heard HK's are very difficult e.g. requires welding etc. How do FAL builds stack up? |
| Like the AR, you just need the right tools for a FAL build. The barrel itself is threaded and screws into the upper. You need a barrel vice and a receiver wrench. There's no barrel pin, so getting it perfectly timed is the tricky part. You then have to headspace it. That requires headspace guages and a locking lug guage. There is also a buttstock tool that is convenient, but not required. Best of luck. |

I understand building an FAL is very reciever dependent. I built mine on an Imbel. Very easy. The only hard thing about it was the barrel shoulder needed just a hair taken off to get to to index well. I followed Gunplumber's instructions and it went together like a champ. It helps I had correct locking shoulders for this upper. |
