So I have decide that I want to build precision .308 AR.  The reciever I have chosen is from Tactical Machining, I went this route because it is only $200.  It is a DPMS style lower.

My plan is to slowy assembly this rifle over the next year as I get the money and find the right parts.

I would like this rifle to be as accuracte as possible, at this point I am not worrying about the price since its a longer term project.

So far I have in my head:

-Tactical Machining 308 lower

-NM 2-Stage trigger

-Tactical Machining upper when/if they become available just to have the recievers match.

-Not sure on a BCG yet, any suggestions?

-A2 stock

-PRI Free Float Black and maybe their SPR riser.

-PRI 308 Flip up front sight gas block

-KAC 600m rear

-Not sure on the barrel, was thinking Krieger and have them assemble and match the bolt.  Not sure on length or twist rate, any suggestions?

-Should I not use the PRI front gas block/sight because most match barrels don't use a .750" at GB?

-The barrel will not be threaded.

-Optic is tbd.

Open to suggestions

Thanks,

Ian

Fulton Armory comes to mind, for many of the parts.  Make sure you check them out.  I'd recommend the complete BCG and possible a barrel - not sure if they have any unthreaded barrels or not.  At any rate, their barrels are definitely worth looking at, if you'd consider a threaded barrel.

I'm halfway done building my dpms style .308. If you want to go with a Kreiger barrel the be prepaired to wait 20 weeks. I just called twice on two different occasions last week to try to get one and that's what they told me both times. I called many custom gun builders until I found one.

What grain bullets do you wanna shoot? That will tell you what twist rate to go with.

I'm doing a fulton armory upper (with forward assist, shell deflector and dust cover) and chrome BCG, kreiger 1/11 twist, 26'' heavy contour, fluted, stainless steel moly coated black, with a accuracy systems ASI maxi recoil reduction brake (moly coated black too) and custom gas block.
DD 12 inch free float quad rail
RRA 2-stage trigger
Magpul PRS
10 Pmags
hogue grip
gg&g bipod
trijicon 5.5-20x accupoint with mil-dot redicle
armalite 30MM one piece scope rail

Christian Hofmeister at Hofmeister Custom Shop is putting it together

It should be the sickest/most accurate ALL BLACK .308 on the planet in my book.

I'm not worried about anywaiting since this will be done over the next year.  I will probably order a barrel as soon as I have the cash.

Anyone know if Krieger will do a barrel .750" at the gas block/muzzle

They are pretty flexable if your willing to wait.
