I am almost done with my .308 Build only needing a handguard and a muzzle break left to get. I'm sort of stuck on what muzzle break I'd like. I think I have narrowed it down to a hammer head, PWS FSC30 or a Smith Enterprises 1005SS.
Any experience with these muzzle breaks or any other I should consider as well? |

Hands down Roedale Precision. Google them.........
This will fit the threading on the SASS Barrel, I have one going on mine. http://www.webshop.roedale.de/product_info.php?info=p316_Muzzle-Brake-5-8-x24.html |

good recoil and flip reduction - will still ring your bell, though.... |

I have a Primary Weapons System FSC30 on my DPMS SASS and like it. It reduces felt recoil a lot, but whoever is shooting next to you will not be your friend. The muzzle blast is directed away from the shooter to the sides. That is the PWS brake I meant. I looked at the wrong part # on Brownells. This is the one I was leaning towards but will definitely check out the others mentioned. Thanks for the input guys and keep it coming. Probably won't buy it for a few weeks so I don't steal my wife's b-day gift ideas.......Maybe. |

Here is kind of a good idea for how the Roedale brake will look. This is NOT installed for use. I just put it on for the pics. Still waiting on a few parts to complete the build.......

Be kind to yourself and neighboring shooters: I agree with the above thought but my choice is the BA BattleComp http://battlecomp.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=6 Not cheap but it works extremely well as a comp and doesn't punish everyone around you when firing. I have the BA BC on my LaRue PredatAR 7.62 18" barrel. We shot about 50 rounds with the standard A2 then switched it out to the BA BC |

It sounds like it would increase recoil. The Linear Comps aren't designed to reduce felt recoil, but should decrease noise at the shooter's ear. It will make the recoil more linear in nature, and less muzzle rise most likely. It won't increase noise or be as effective at taming any recoil such as with a brake. Obviously, it won't be nearly as loud either. |
