How much is 1k of .308 Port going for?

[#1]
Almost all 7.62 military ammo is in the $500/K range or higher.

I don't know the answer. But if someone does, please specify if there's any difference in value if the Port happens to be linked on 200rd belts vs loose or in BP's. Thanks

Fifty cents a round.

$0.50 is about the going rate for surplus these days, for that money you could get new production boxer primed, so I dont know where all these people get off charging that for decades old ammo.

$500ish

I'm glad I bought a few when AIM has it for $139 shipped. Those were the days.

Because thats the price people are willing to pay. Capitalism is a strange beast at times.

Maybe because new commercial production probably doesn't have sealed primers and bullets?

Prvi, Igman, and GGG (About .45-.50) do have sealed primers and bullets, and also shoot a helluva lot better than any surplus Ive seen, especially GGG.  The fact that we cant get anymore does make the heart grow fonder though!

Thanks. I needed that.

I bought 5 cases when AIM was selling them for ~150 shipped. Sold them for ~200 shipped. God, I wish I'd held onto them. A case went in the EE recently for (I think) 600 shipped.

Oh man, when ever I think about that 1000 rds of BF Port that I used to function test my new FNFAL builds I just want to cry. I had no idea that I was using match grade ammo for such a trivial task

GGG is the Lithuanian "surplus".

GGG vs Igman

On this thread I wanted to try it out, so when I found it locally for $94 per 200 rd BP I got 3 cases (maxed out my CC ) and shot it against SA and the hype is true. Boxer primed too...

For GGG try:

ammoworks
ammoman
the-armory (where I get it local in Va Beach)

HTH, it really is great ammo!

I took a BP of Port to a gun show to set on the table, I had $125 on it.  Got some looks and questions but no takers.

I bought two or three thousand rounds of it when it was that price. I wish I would have bought ten times that much.

Me too. I only bought 3 cases.

(Still have a ton of Radway, SA and Hirt, though).

I think it is because too many folks don't get outside the arfcom loop so there is an incestuous circle of perceived value.

Port is one of my all time favs. never had a issue in the beltfeds, HK51 or G3. Also great for shootin gongs at 600 yrds with rem 700 and not havin to spend $1 rnd for match ammo. Wish i had more but now im goin after all the Lithuanian 308, its not just reliable and accurate its also reloadable and 2004 and 2005 production.
