Hey guys. will I still be able to go with a heavy barrel if i buy a low profile upper?

Why not a low profile barrel and a heavy upper?

(You can put a heavy barrel on any .308 AR upper)

Some uppers that I have seen have a raised rail and some are lower. I am new to AR's and didnt know if a low profile would work with a heavy barrel.

Thanks. I wasnt sure if the heavy barrel would cause you to need a rail system that would not mach up with the low pro upper. Thanks for the help, this is my 1st AR and i am learning as I go.

Yes. The location of the holes for the barrel extension and gas tube will be the same for all receivers. IIRC the barrel nuts and receiver threads are different for DPMS and Armalite type receivers, though.
