.338 Federal. Is this caliber compatible with a .223 lower? Is anyone using this round?

No it is going to use the AR-10 lower. ArmaLite has the whole rifle on their website. I have an AR-10 lower, and I am waiting on the just the .338 upper to be released. I received a voicemail from a gentleman at ArmaLite, and they don't have a date or price set on the release of just the lower. Hope this helped.

justdammitalltohell, ARMALITE.  You hook-up with Federal to get the job done correctly but fuck it all up with a SS barrel.  People needing it for bear, moose, ... are going to be in areas that get mighty cold.  SS sucks in those conditions.  Double hand-lapped and chrome-lined goodness is the safe way to go after those critters.

just da-da-damn.

I had VandenBerg build a .338 Fed Shilen barrel on a AR10A2 a couple of months ago.

Works great. Slight increase in recoil, but not too bad.

The only down side is SniperX has a suppressor for his .338, and I don't.
