| I've been looking for some .45ACP/Auto and all I am finding are brands I haven't heard of before. What brand of ammunition would be gtg for .45. Looking for new brass case.? |
| What brand are you looking at? I usually use Herter's brass case (from Cabelas), Black Hills, PMC bronze, Winchester (white box, service grade, and I think the 1911 specific box once), American Eagle, Federal HST, and Hornady to name a few. All in a Springfield Armory 1911 mil-spec. |

Geco is fine, and cheap!

I suspect this question is in the wrong forum but as far as .45 AR15s go my guns (blowback Olympics and DI Macon Armorys) the only ammo I've had issues with was the Russian steel-cased stuff. It led to a lot of OOBs in my Olympics. OOB's? How much damage? That must be a nasty surprise. |

Maybe OOB isn't the right description but it didn't feed or eject or burn properly so there was fire coming out where there shouldn't have been fire. In fact, this was back when I had a Cav Arms lower and I was worried the thing might melt. |
