Anyone excited about the new .45 Bushmaster chambering? Looks a lot like a .45-70.

I saw the ad in the new Guns magazine.
And don't think it will be a success. But will this be Bushmaster's first proprietary cartridge?

Nothing to see yet. Still vaporware. There is a post in the Bushmaster Industry forum that says it will be out this fall.

"Hornady will be making the .45 Bushmaster Ammo, they will be std US Gi Mags a 30rd mag with a single stack follower holds 9. More info will come the closer we get to the Fall production."

I hope they put a little more effort into this one than they did their .308.

Its gonna end up like the bAR10..a novelty. They made the 9mm carbine they should just stick to the normal calibers.Im sure they could make something that takes a thompson or grease gun mag in .45 ACP

I had the chance to fondle one at the Factory. I'm really looking forward to getting one in the Fall.

Is it REALLY a 1 and 45 twist on the barrel?

Hybrid calibre stuff always
make me think "eh"..??..

I prefer not to buy them.

But it is certainly interesting, and
BM makes a great product.

.45-70 uses a 1-20" twist. I guess tha doesn't sound TOO unreasonable
