Recommendations for a low profile gas block, .625" shoulder diameter, one that slides off and doesn't have any tight fitment issues...
This is for a voodoo barrel.

Thanks.

I chose a Daniel Defense for my SBR and nearly 4,500 rounds later it is still in the same place it started.  It's a clamp on style, which is my preference.

Need some recommendations as well. I bought the wrong size now I need a .625 that will work with my MOE hand guards. See my Need Help ASAP thread on the next page for more details.

Actually I was looking at the DD clamp on too.

It needs to fit under a Fortis rail.

Here are some choices I found...
Gas Block: BCM LGB .625 @ $45
Gas Block: DD Low Profile Clamp Style - .625 @ $61
Gas Block:Syrac Ordnance .625 Adjustable Low Profile @ $96

Wheres that spikes .625 at.. link?

I just searched for spikes tactical and found it.  All of these are just one inch in length. If you are covering up a front sight incorporated gas block like me a longer length would be nice.

I've used the DD .625 clamp on with good results also

Get the DD, prolly the lowest profile clamp on out there.  I couldn't find one in stock when I needed one and ended up getting a VLTOR clamp on.  I had to grind down the bolts so that they wouldn't make contact inside my geissele mk4 rail.

Syrac and SLR both have new generation adjustable gas blocks. Check their threads out here.

Must order gas block... I have a barrel to install!
I am super super excited and very impressed with this Voodoo EVO ultra lite barrel.

All I have to say is WOW.
Beautiful... very light. Super impressed.
Did a mock up... I estimate the weapon will weigh 5.7lbs unloaded!

5.7lbs including a Sb15 brace!

Important question.

If the barrel does not have dimples... does that mean mandatory clamp on gas glock?
Or
Go get dimples installed at a local gun smith?

Thanks

I use clamp on GBs whether or not the barrel is dimpled...

There is a huge misconception that the dimple is needed to hold a set screw gas block in place and nothing could be further from the truth.  The fact is the dimple only makes lining up the gas block near fool proof.  If you install a set screw gas block correctly it will not move.  The dimple does not hurt anything, but it sure as hell is not mandatory if the installation is done correctly.  Clean the screws and threads with acetone and then a half-drop of BLUE lock-tite on each screw.  Tighten securely but you don't need to gorilla it in there.  Let it set up and you are done.  I even have a set screw gas block, a high rise type too, on my .470 Rhino and the barrel was not dimpled and it has never moved, and it has the recoil of something like 4 .308s all going off at once.  If you install a set screw gas block and it moves, you installed it wrong, period.
However, I love the dimples because as I said, you just center the set screw up in the dimple and screw it down, perfect alignment every time.  With no dimple you need to do some measuring which is not rocket surgery, but you'd be surprised how many people screw up their gas block installation by just slamming it on there and calling it good, then wondering why it is short stroking.

Right!

Good to know.. ive only dealt with dimpled barrels and pinned ones.
I figured I would have to do some measure... seems easy enough.

I will take your advice and rock the 2 set screws with Block tight and measure.

Thanks!
