I already have a kalifornia AR (fab 10)but i was wondering what you guys do after you build a ar from scratch (from a %80 lower) do you register it? can you get into trouble with it?

Basically you just have to make sure you put a serial number on it. You don't have to register it. Since you live in CA, I would be extra careful with anything that has to do with an AR-15 and I am not sure what the laws are concerning 80% lowers there.

Maybe that's a state law, but there is no federal law that requires you put a serial number on your own completed 80% firearm.

Nope no serial number even in CA but you must comply with SB 23 and the  Assualt weapon ban.

Ok technically you don't but it will save huge amounts of hassle if 'the man' starts asking questions. Look at the page www.acmearms.com/80percentfaq.php/#2] it provides some answers. I agree with erring on the side of caution but its up to whomever is building it.

I wouldn't say you can't build a California legal 80% AR. You could build a FAB 10 clone or build your 80% outside of California in its normal configuration and keep it out side California.
