Some threads today got me thinking that I want my gun to be a little bit more "evil". It is a A3 16in (post-ban, of course). I have a collapsible stock. After reviewing http://www.adcofirearms.com/shopservices.cfm I cannot decide what service is best for me. I know that I would like the barrel cut down to 14.5 and have a phantom flash suppressor perma-installed. Is this "Shorten + Phantom: cut to 14.5", pin/weld FH more $85.00" the service I need? Please advise me if this is what is best. Thank you. |

At least in my case I got quick email response. Assumed it was with everyone. Steve did exactly what your looking for on my BM upper. Only 1 week turn around. I wrapped my upper in an old crappy towel. Didn't get the towel back but got an upper the way it should be. |
I had UPS send mine. They put it in one of those triangular boxes and bubble wrapped the hell out of it. I got it back in a nicely packed box of the same, wrapped in newspapers and what not. |
I've shipped numerous uppers all over the country and I first wrap the upper in shipping paper, then wrap that in bubble wrap. I then fill all the voids with packing peanuts. I shoot for no movement when the package is shaken. The short triangle boxes at the USPS fit a carbine upper perfectly. The longer ones are just a tad too long for a rifle length upper, but that's better than too short. USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation and insurance has been my preferred method and has worked for me very well so far. |
Don't use a towel - bubble wrap is better. I also include a letter with mine specifically stating what I want done, where I want it shiped when I'm done, the Order # from the website, and I include a money order for return shipping. You can get a FREE container that is perfect from the US Post Office. They are triangular tubes for priority mail. They come in 2 sizes. The shorter size is perfect for just a barrel or a barreled upper (as long as the barrel is 16" or less). I ship mine by US Post Office priority mail & insured. |
How long ago did you send it? I just sent mine on the 6th and can't wait to get it back. I want to go blasting this weekend! |
That's all there is to it. It's really that simple. It'll probably be back before you miss it. As Forest pointed out make sure that a copy of your order, return address, any special instructions or concerns are in the box with the upper. And my experience is that Steve is remarkable when it comes to replying to emails. I don't think I've ever waited more than three or four hours and I've sent emails at all times of day from morning till very late at night. |
Sent 12/6/04, returned 12/13/04. |
