| Hey all. I'd like to think that I know my way around my rifle, however, I am trying to replace my current Bushmaster XM15-E2s Upper to a flattop version (for obvious reasons). My thought was to purchase a stripper upper and transfer the guts, barrel, bolt, gas-tube, etc, over to the new receiver with the help of a local gunsmith to save my wallet some grief (who said that he would be able to do it). What are your thoughts and what specifics should I be concerned about if this is a viable option? If I purchased a "mil-spec" upper would it co-opt with a "commercial" lower? This is my first serious tinkering with my build aside from the minor changes with the hand-guard and trigger assembly. This newbie is open to anything so let me have it. |
